Stepper motors rotate in fixed step patterns, as their name implies. You can find them in many household appliances as well as in many commercial and industrial applications. These chapters provide examples of specific applications of steppermotors.

There are many types and features of stepper motors. They are controlled by electrical pulses, which determine their speed and angle. These pulses are generated by an oscillator or controller. They can be controlled using this controller. Motor rotation speed and angle are related to the rate and number of input pulses, so this simple drive mechanism can be used to control motor speed and position.

Stepper motors are classified into three types, VR, PM and HB motors depending on their rotor structure. You can further divide them into unipolar or bipolar motors depending upon the direction of current flow through the coil windings.
